Sustainable e-waste Recycling in Australia

Our Charter is Sustainability

SPS is a co-regulator under the NTCRS, working with industry and government to ensure the best possible outcomes from recycling end of life 'e-products' such as computers, screens, devices and phones. Product Stewardship is the simple ethos that the maker of a product is responsible for it at the end of its useful life and this concept is central to our existence at SPS. We have the experience and capacity to fulfill your product stewardship obligations and we continue to seek opportunities to create a more sustainable environment.

SPS has decades of experience in computer recycling

Our Resources, Our Environment

As Sustainable Product Stewards (SPS) for the NTCRS, with decades of collective experience in materials management and recycling, we aim to extract the highest commodity recovery and minimise waste to landfill. All of our processes are conducted to the highest standards of environmental compliance and safety. Our methods ensure greatest preservation of resource and support a sustainable circular economy.

SPS connects Industry Liable Parties for eWaste with social enterprises

Our Industry, Our People

SPS is an advocate and strong supporter for the disadvantaged in our communities. We work with social enterprises across the country to ensure sustainable employment is provided to those that normally face barriers to employment. We want to change the current dynamic in the national recycling scheme and move away from the simple cost based offering and add value to manufacturers' obligations under the NTCRS by providing real social impact in our recycling. SPS provides you a service that turns your liability into social return asset, enhancing your brand through tangible community benefit.

SPS offer a Diverse and Complete Solution

Sustainable Product Stewards (SPS) through its founders TES and NEWA, have worked under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS) since its commencement in 2011.

The experience gained in that time and the relationships formed with the social enterprise sector is what makes SPS such a unique and special alternative.

Engaging with SPS gives you access to Australia’s largest and most diverse e-waste recycling and logistics network, ensuring your end of life product is recycled safely, responsibly and with the greatest social outcome possible.

Complementing our extensive regional and disability network is our strong ties with larger metro based recyclers. These facilities have the capacity and technology to ensure the greatest possible recovery from low value and high volume waste streams. Our recycling partners are fully compliant and independently accredited to ensure safe and ethical recycling.

Making a Difference

SPS has a total solution network for NTCRS computer Ewaste recycling in Australia    SPS is a joint venture between TES and National E-Waste Alliance, combining decades of hands-on experience and knowledge to provide a co-regulatory arrangement that offers a true alternative with unmatched benefits.

SPS has the experience, expertise, and relationships to achieve the best possible outcomes for the greatest return for our environment, for our individuals and for our community and we look forward to sharing this with liable parties who want to make a real difference. Our work with corporate partners enables us to provide sustainable employment for the disadvantaged.

At SPS we see the potential to provide growth for small business and social enterprise by providing compliance in e-recycling and focus on the growth of small business.

The simplistic approach of 'cheaper – not better' has the capacity to undermine the entire ethos of product stewardship and SPS has witnessed the demise of several co-regulators over the last decade and seen the impact that cost cutting has on recycling and compliance. This is why SPS was created.
